Ingredient
Potassium Sorbate
Benefits
Synthetic
Potassium sorbate is a preservative that is used in the manufacture of Styrene/Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer.
Very common in the food industry, potassium sorbate helps products last longer by preventing the growth of bacteria. It is a salt of sorbic acid, another preservative compound that was isolated from rowan tree berries (Sorbus aucuparia L.) in 1859 and began to be used for its antimicrobial properties in the mid-20th century.
