Ingredient
Fig Decoction
Ficus carica
Benefits
Natural
Figs contain vitamins A and C and help cleanse the skin with their fruit enzymes. We make a decoction by boiling figs in water. This is then strained and added to our products.
Fig trees belong to a large family of plants called Moraceae, mulberry or fig, many of which are cultivated for their beautiful leaves. The common fig (Ficus carica) is grown for its ‘fruits,’ which are actually inside-out flowers. They contain tiny seeds; they have a chewy texture and a sweet taste. The fruits can come in many colours, shapes and sizes.
Figs prefer a hot and dry climate. They have been cultivated since at least 5000 BC and they were sacred to the Romans.
