Kokum Butter

Kokum butter is very stable and solid, but melts quickly when it comes into contact with skin. This makes it ideal when creating moisturizing self-preserving cosmetics.

The kokum tree grows mainly in Western India. Kokums look like purple tomatoes topped with a green star-shaped tail. The fruit's tender white pulp, protected by a hard outer layer, contains oil-rich seeds that can be pressed to obtain the edible kokum butter.
